“Oh, I can answer that one easily, as a Bounty Hunter.” Betta (​​https://toyhou.se/16886409.betta) grins. She reaches underneath her back fin and, as if by magic, produces three knives in her left hand, each slightly different in shape and size. She then shakes her right arm fin, causing a fourth one to fall out, and catching it with ease in her right hand. “I have more, of course, these are just the ones that have the most story behind them.”

“This one-” She holds the one from her right arm fin higher to indicate it’s the one she’s talking about. “-is made to be very small and easy to hide. It’s meant to help me get out of sticky situations. If my hands were bound behind me right now, I would be able to easily shake this into my hand and cut myself free with this.” Sure enough, the blade is small enough to be concealed within Betta’s palm, appearing to be shorter than the length of a finger and easily hidden by the webbing between her fingers. With a flick of her hand, the small knife vanishes between her fin and arm again, presumably into some hidden sheath.

“This one-” Betta switches one knife from her left hand to her right, the second largest one, and holds it up to show it off. “-is for utility. Cutting branches to start campfires and building shelters, for example. What, surprised that my knives have mundane uses apart from fighting? I’m still a person, y’know-I need utility tools as well as weapons.” She tucks that knife away.

“This-” Betta shows off her third knife, the largest one, by once again switching it to her right hand and holding it up. “-is for cutting food. I can photosynthesise just fine, but sometimes I gain a craving for actual consumed food, and I often cook for myself, so I need something dedicated to chopping. It has to be sanitised constantly, of course-food safety and all.” She returned that knife to where it came from.

“And finally, this one-” Betta holds up her last knife, not switching hands this time since it’s the only one left. “-is for navigation. I often end up pursuing targets through forests or caves, and it can be very easy to get lost in the twists and turns, so I use this to mark the walls or branches that I pass. It’s not made of the same material as the others, fun fact-it’s actually made of a much harder metal.” She put that one away as well.

Then, claiming that she still has something to attend to, the Tidetouched Guide disappeared into the waters, vanishing within a moment.
