Located not too far from the water pools in Rosa, nestled above the Blooming Fields, you can find the Little Swarm constellation. Some say it kinda looks like a spotting of six slabsters and you'd be right. However that's not it what it started as. Really it's another kind of spot. It represents the Garden Enthusiasts' Guardian's favorite bug : the Ladybug.( I drew the intended constellation as Nymph sees it but I don't have my computer rn so I didn't have time for the slab version.)
The Myth goes that once upon a time, A young seeker wanted something to combat a growing slab infestation and turned to the outer realm for solutions. With them they brought back three insects : a fierce fighter, a ravenous grub and the speckled guard. All was well at first for the first growing cycle. The slabs were repelled and the new critters were delightful, disappearing with the frosts until the thaw. However, the introduced bugs multiplied much like the infestation they meant to repel. The Grub fed the Guard and Fighter, the latter who also ate the Guard. But none ate the Fighter. Leaving it to wreak havoc upon the skies and land, devouring whatever could be caught in its blades. After a decade of being unable to protect their friends from the menace they unleashed, the seeker turned to a familiar enemy, begging the Slabsters to help them out. Many had no gumption to hear out their pleas but a small band of six did. They weren't much but it was a start. It wasn't easy but over time they gained in number, from recruiting more to the efforts and many, many splits from gruesome battles. After a long war, they managed to exterminate the invaders to a reasonable population. No longer fearing for their less durable friends, the leading slabsters were regarded as heroes to the community that no longer had to fear for their leaves. Their efforts awarded them a place in the sky to be remembered. To this day, there are a number of slabs that claim to be splits but that's a bunch of swamp water.
What really happened was yes, there was a war in the Guardian's personal greenhouse between the mantis, ladybugs and slabsters that ended in a lot of slabs being bit and split and a notice to anyone flying that low space was risky without stone protection. That doesn't make for a great legend tho. The Guardian doesn't mind either way, it makes for a great story for younglings.
