An old shambling tree kindly waits for me
A kindred spirit, a large build of stone
The glow behind his closed off eyes shines bright
I feel his heart beating, he hears my sound
It is thunderous. Ever steady still
It seems to drive him mad, deafening voice
Wings aloft but cannot fly. The stone cries
He knows the past and cannot run on limbs
Tear apart his insides and leave him bare
Lone flag wave in the sky, open your eyes
May his land run full with water and tears
Come to know one to chase off a cold breeze
Branches swing while standing idly nearby
The wish for a guide, some meaning, a friend
Stare on with colored eyes not his to keep
Watch the world grow in a different light
Sleep soundly and peacefully, he said
Two heartbeats not one, no longer alone
